AlterJig is a tile jigsaw puzzle game. You select one of several graphics supplied with the game or create your own puzzle from any bitmap. When you select "new game", AlterJig scrambles the puzzle and challenges you to restore the picture by rotating groups of four tiles to get the tiles back to their proper position. Tile rotation is controlled by left and right mouse buttons. It sounds easier to solve than it is. There is a brief help file, but the demo mode helps you understand the game, which is pretty self-explanatory.

Ulike most other jigsaw puzzle applications for Flash, Jigsaw Puzzle v2.1 recognizes the neighbour pieces put near in right direction and then groups them. This makes the game more real and more fascinating. With this easy to use and customisible tool you can build your own puzzles that can be published for on-line web gaming or compiled as desktop application. JigsawPuzzle v2.0 is developed with ActionScript 2.0 and extends Macromedia Flash MX's IUComponent class. The component renders any symbol in the library marked as Export for Actionscript accessing the symbol with its Linkage Identifier. So preparing jigsaw puzzles is as easy as providing the component with the Linkage Identifier of the picture symbol. You can also adjust the piece division (4 up to 144) and rotation ability of pieces by seting parameters using Flash's Properties inspector or Component Inspector panels.
