Agelong Tree is a computer program intended for building family trees, storing and displaying information about people and events in their lives. The program is really easy to use and even children can handle it. At the same time Agelong Tree has a wide spectrum of features: it automatically builds a family tree for any person, has a mechanism of events allowing the user to make complex biographies, stores texts, photos, sounds and videos, searches, sorts and filters data and shows statistics. The family tree itself is based upon the data about persons and the events that put these persons together. The tree can be built for any selected person. Below you can see his/her ancestors and above there are direct descendants and their husbands and wives (and also persons having common children with the direct descendants). There are also expanded types of trees that give the opportunity of displaying not only the direct descendants and ancestors of a person, but the family trees of the person's brothers, sisters and cousins. A special algorithm builds the tree in the most appropriate way; it is able to level and balance the trees with a most complicated structure. It automatically extracts genealogical ancestor and descendant reports from GEDCOM files. In addition, it extracts a list of sources and references, and a full name index. With a few simple directives, these can be organized into chapters, and placed in a document with a title page, a table of contents, chapter and section headings, etc. Photographs can be included to document your research and add visual appeal. The end result is an easily created, beautifully crafted genealogy book documenting your family history. And since the document is in the Adobe PDF format, it can be read by anyone, regardless of the type of computer they have. PDF files can be sent through email, stored on a website, placed on a CD, or printed on high quality paper. PDF files are particularly well suited for browsing on a computer. Ancestral Author creates hyperlinks, which allow you to click on a name in the document, and jump immediately to the page on which that person appears.
